Do you have a willingness to help people, and a desire to be a part of a positive presence on & off the beach in Walton County, Florida? Do you have a passion for our Sea Turtles and beach wildlife in our area? Become a VBA with us!
Friendly Community Presence
By wearing your VBA shirt, the public knows that you are a person they can approach with their questions about our area. Our VBA’s are knowledgeable about local restaurants, wildlife, beach info, and especially Sea Turtles! During conversation Volunteer Beach Ambassadors get the opportunity to share more about Leave No Trace and keeping our beaches #CleanDarkFlat.
Making a Difference
Volunteer Beach Ambassadors can also be seen frequently filling in holes, knocking down leftover sandcastles, and picking up bits of trash during their time on the beach. These key tasks help give our nesting Sea Turtle population their best chance.
VBA’s attend one mandatory training a year to be a member of Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles. Membership is only $5 per year, and can be paid at that time. Joining together with friends makes it more fun!
We also offer opportunities to expand your knowledge through our YouTube Channel content as well as learning through hands-on training by assisting our education team and more!
